Hip Pain

Hip osteoarthritis, also known as coxarthrosis, is a medical condition in which the cartilage that covers the hip joint wears down over time. This degeneration of the cartilage causes pain, inflammation, and limited movement in the hip joint.

Coxarthrosis typically develops gradually, especially in older adults or in individuals who have suffered hip injuries.

As the cartilage wears away, the bones in the joint begin to rub against each other, leading to severe pain and difficulty moving. Symptoms of coxarthrosis may include hip pain, stiffness, difficulty walking or climbing stairs, and a limited range of motion in the affected joint.

Treatment options may range from lifestyle changes, physical therapy, and medications to more severe cases requiring hip replacement surgery.

The goal of treatment is to relieve pain, improve mobility, and help the affected person continue with daily activities.
